American culture can often
seem hedonistic and “programmed”. Scientists have
found that if rats are given the ability to stimulate the pleasure
centers in their own brains with a button, then they will stop
eating, stop sleeping, and just push the little button until they
drop dead from exhaustion. Rats are the quintessential experimentee,
and they are used in research because their mammalian behavior
resembles that of humans. These particular creatures are human-rat
hybrids, bearing “humanesque” hands, skin, and eyes. |
